Part I: Spontaneous Combustion is the improv performance featuring celebrated recording artist, pianist Mike Melvoin and Roger Goldenberg, nationally known visual jazz painter. During the 10 minute jam session at Dartmouth Colleges Hopkins Center on June 15th, 2009, Roger and Mike conversed in their respective mediums; Mike on the Centers Steinway and Roger with his selected brush and black paint. During the final two minutes each artist traded fours, concluding simultaneously to the applause of the enthusiastic, enthralled Dartmouth College Class of ’59.
